Small Business. Big Perspective.
Meet the principal of this boutique wealth management business, James Waggett.
James was born in Salisbury, England and received his education at Trinity College, Oxford and London Business School. He prides himself in his ability to bring a unique perspective to his role as a private client wealth manager.
James draws this unique perspective from an unconventional background that ultimately led to his current role in finance. Originally, he was educated as a biochemist at Oxford; however, when he found he did not enjoy the lab, he switched to corporate finance at London Business School, a choice much more suitable to his ambition and personality. James is your typical Myer Briggs ENTJ, i.e. a results orientated achiever with a personable manner. His personality strengths that yield themselves well to a successful career in wealth management include his ability to think outside the box, challenge conventions, form strong opinions, and persistently strive toward a goal. In addition to his education and personality which contribute to his unique perspective, James is also an avid traveler. Having traveled the world regularly beginning in his teen years, James has been able to engender an intimate knowledge of world culture and international developments. Thus, a global perspective is naturally integrated into the advice he offers his clients.
For five years, James worked extensively in corporate finance through Deloitte in London and Macquarie Bank in Sydney. From here, James moved into private client wealth management where he was able to distinguish himself with his proactive advice. James believes that it is important to keep up to date on fluid nature of finance, and avidly reads various financial and economic publications like the Financial Times and the Economist. Currently, James resides in Arrowtown, New Zealand where he lives with his wife and three children. He returns to Australia regularly in order to maintain relationships with his Australian client base while remaining accessible to the financial Kiwi community.
At Waggett Wealth Advice, it is our goal to provide each and every client with a professional yet personal experience. Wealth management is a private area of life, so it is our hope that we can nurture a trusting relationship with unmatched accessibility due to our status as a small, boutique business run by the sole owner, James Waggett.
